PURPOSE:To improve yield of material, eliminate the necessity of welding when a group of electrode plates are formed, along with the reduction of working processes and the improvement of reliability by forming a pair of the plates while folding a mesh grid part by 90 deg. at its bridge part such that the folded pair are opposed in parallel to each other. CONSTITUTION:After applying a pasty active material on a continuous band- shaped expanded grid and stamping and cutting into a prescribed form, a bridge piece which provides connection between mesh grid parts located on the both sides of a portion 1 not to be processed and an electrode pole piece 4 part connected to said bridge piece, while leaving them on the part 1, a pair of negative electrode plates 7 are folded at the bridge piece 3 part such that grid parts are opposed to each other. Here, the electrode pole piece 4 is directed upward from a pair of electrodes 7 by folding. Hereby, no welding is required for providing connection between the electrode plates of the same polarity, and by forming the electrode pole piece while stamping said piece in a body with the bridge piece from the part not to be processed being scrap loss, no separate electrode pole is required, enabling the scrap to be efficiently utilized. |
