PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform good recording in the next recording time even if stand-by state continues for a long time, in a thermal transfer recording apparatus due to an ink sheet, by pulling back the paper to a position where the leading end thereof is held between a platen and the ink sheet during stand-by period. CONSTITUTION:Paper 1 recorded in a recording part 4 is cut by a cutter 17 but, when the succeeding image to be recorded is absent, a recording control part 11 outputs a reversal pulse S2' to a drive circuit 13 after the cutting of the paper and a platen 9 is reversely rotated by a pulse motor 14 to pull back the leading end of the paper 1 to the position further proximate to a recording position. By this pulling-back operation, the paper 1 and an ink sheet 5 are slackened at the proximate side of the recording part 4 but the ink sheet 5 is held under a tensioned state by buffer roller 7 and the paper 1 is waited while held between the ink sheet 5 and the platen 9. Because pressing force is not added to the leading end part of the paper by this method, the paper is not adhered to the platen or prevented from curling even if the paper is kept in stand-by state for a long time in performing the next recording and good recording operation is obtained. |
