PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent the lowering of printing quality caused by abrasion, by a method wherein the number of printing times of frequently- used types high in frequency to be used are counted and, when they reach the predetermined number of times, said types are exchanged with the same new types. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of type tray 1 each having frequency used types 8 high in frequency to be used are received in a cylindrical type case. A control part 11 reads type data from a printing data feed part 12 to collate types with a type list and, when they are the frequently-used types, the total number of printing times thereof are counted by a memory counter part 15 to be compared with the set number of times due to a setting apparatus 13 and, when the counted number of printing times are equal to or less than the set number of times, a printing part 14 is operated to perform printing. When reaching the set number of times, the counter part is cleared while the address data of the frequently- used types 8 is altered to that of the same new types and the printing part 14 is driven on the basis of this address data. By this method, printing quality and the use efficiency of the type plate can be enhanced. |
