Aromatic hydrocarbons are obtained from rich solvent stream that derives from an aromatic hydrocarbon extraction process by conducting rich solvent stream into a first separation zone and separating in presence of stripping medium into distillate fraction containing aromatic hydrocarbons, and bottom fraction containing non-enriched solvent and relatively non-volatile impurities, conducting part of bottom fraction into second separation zone to obtain overhead vapour which is led to lower part of first separation zone; aromatic hydrocarbons are obtained in high concentration from first separation zone.
