The invention concerns a handling device which comprises a station 32 for pressing food products into a mould 40, a station 34 for closing the mould, a lifting unit 36 which groups the moulds in threes and a movable carriage 38 which receives three moulds on each of its trays 112. The moulds are then cooked; then they are ejected from the carriage towards another lifting device which takes them to a mould release station. The device is entirely automatic and synchronised by at least one computing element 88a. The device can be used for the manufacture of cooked hams. <IMAGE>
