PURPOSE:To improve short time frequency stability of a gas cell type Rb atomic oscillator, by removing harmful components in the light emitted from a lamp cell, decreasing the output of a solar battery, and increasing the S/N of an atomic resonation signal. CONSTITUTION:Most of the harmful optical components, whose spectral intensity is large, is present in the visual light region. Therefore an optical glass filter 13 is employed and inserted between a lamp cell 1 and a resonating cell 5 or between the cell 5 and a solar battery 7. Or it is used as the window of a lamp house. In the lamp cell 1, Ar or the like is included in addition to Rb<87> for accelerating discharge. In the light emitted from the Rb<87>, only near infrared rays (7,800Angstrom and 7,947Angstrom ) contribute to atomic resonation. All other wavelength components are harmful components which are to become noises for the output of the solar battery. In this constitution, only the insertion of the simple glass filter can effectively remove the harmful light, the output frequency of a voltage controlled crystal oscillator 10 is controlled with a stable resonant frequency of the Rb<87> as a reference, and high degree of stability is obtained. |
