PURPOSE:To provide a pre-load bearing which is simply constructed and is capable of being adjusted for its pre-load arbitrarily by axially forming a pair of concaved raceway surfaces with a difference in distance between the centers of the curvatures, on both the opposed side faces of a bearing and a raceway base. CONSTITUTION:A pair of axial raceway surfaces 4, 4' and 5, 5' are formed on both the opposed side faces of a bearing 2 and a raceway base 3. Each of the raceway surfaces 4, 4' and 5, 5' has a radius of the curvature a little longer than the radius (D/2) of a ball and the distance L2 between the centers (e) and (e') of the curvatures of the raceway surfaces 4 and 4' of the bearing 2 is shorter than the distance L1 between the centers (f) and (f') of the curvatures of the raceway sufaces 5 and 5' of the raceway base 3. The difference between L1 and L2 may permit the linearly operating ball bearing to be arbitrarily adjusted for the pre-load and to support the longitudinal and the lateral load and the load with a moment. |
