In the case of a hydrostatic radial piston engine with internal piston support on an eccentric shaft which is incorporated with its bearing in the cylinder block into a lubrication unit and in which working medium from a high pressure mains can be admitted to the cylinders arranged in a star shape by way of a control unit, it is proposed according to the invention that the lubrication unit be sealed off from the hydraulic medium by means of piston guides which each seal off one piston and one cylinder from the lubrication unit, and that the control unit have non-return valves which block a feed and discharge line of each cylinder and can be cleared by a control shaft carried along by the eccentric shaft.
