The invention to an electrical switching or distribution installation for explosion-hazard spaces, particularly in mining, whose electrical apparatuses and switches are severally accommodated in a housing with a cover, the housing sphere, which is subject to overpressure, being sealed with respect to the surrounding atmosphere with the aid of a cover seal; according to the invention it is in this case provided that the housing seal is set up to a constant maximum pressure of the sphere gas which is free from the surrounding atmosphere, and the sealed housing has sphere gas inlet and outlet lines, for flushing with the sphere gas, whose monitoring and protection are linked to the cover closures and the electrical power circuit breakers in order to maintain the housing sphere pressure and in the event of flow passing through the housing.
