PURPOSE:To evaluate the performance of a lubricant for plastic processing by such an arrangement wherein a lubricant to be tested is applied to the roll bite of rolling rolls and the pressurizing force of the rolling rolls when they apply a load for plastic processing to a piece of material and the tension of the piece of material are detected. CONSTITUTION:A piece of metallic material (a) is placed between rolling rolls 1 and 2 and the metallic material (a) is plastic processed by driving and rotating the rolls and a brand new surface is exposed. Next, the metallic material (a) is securely bound by a back tension device 36 so that it doesn't move, and a lubricant to be tested is sprayed on the roll bite of the rolling roll 1 by a nozzle, or it is coated on the entire circumference of the roll and the connection of the rolling rolls 1, 2 is cut off, and a plastic processing load is applied to the metallic material (a) only by the rotation of the rolling roll 1. The performance of the lubricant to be tested is examined by measuring the pressurizing force of the rolling roll 1 and the tension and coefficient of friction of the metallic material at this time. |
