<p>Apparatus for determining the alcohol content in the breath of a human subject. The apparatus comprises a clear cartridge (30) having a top and a bottom, a first oneway valve (36) disposed in the bottom of the container (30) and oriented to permit only ingress to the container (30). An alcohol - sensitive solution (37) is disposed in the container (30) and such solution (37) is formulated to change color in accordance with alcohol combined with the solution (37). A mouthpiece (24) and a body member (12) are also provided having a passageway (14) connecting the mouthpiece (24) to the oneway valve (36) whereby, when the subject exhales through the mouthpiece (24), the breath enters the solution (37) through the oneway valve (36) and flows through the solution (37). The color of the solution (37) then changes in accordance with the quantity of alcohol in the subject"s breath. </p> |
