The invention relates to a light, in particular signalling light for water vehicles, having a fluorescent lamp, which is operated in the high-frequency range, and an associated fluorescent light ballast. In the case of such a light, the radio interference field can be reduced using simple means to such an extent that the light can be used in particular as a radio interference-suppressed signalling light for water vehicles if the fluorescent lamp is a U-shaped fluorescent lamp with two legs which are parallel to one another and if the fluorescent light ballast is tuned to an operating frequency above 40 kHz at which the radio interference level of the fluorescent lamp is minimised or disappears completely.
