The object of a prior-art breakwater is to protect the interior of a harbour or a shore from damage by waves. This reflecting breakwater is designed to concentrate, utilize, or manage the energy of the waves generated in a wide sea or lake zone, in addition to its role as a conventional breakwater. When the breakwater is disposed as a parabolic shape toward the direction of propagation of the waves, reflected waves are concentrated at the vicinity of the focal point. A purifying breakwater can be installed as a wave energy-utilizing device in the vicinity of the focal point, thereby efficiently utilizing the energy of the concentrated waves. The energy of the waves is dissipated by the utilization of the energy. A wave-extinguishing bank and a breakwater structure can also be installed in the vicinity of the focal point, so that the waves can be managed in a compact and economical manner. As described above, the energy of waves can be utilized or managed effectively as a safety remedy for port zones and waterway shores, thereby increasing the range of use of breakwaters in the industry.
|
