PURPOSE:To obtain a high performance promotional reagent for cold agglutination and agglutination of sheep cells by employing polyethylene glycol. CONSTITUTION:A polyethylene glycol solution having a grease-like, wax-like or flake-like polyethylene glycol dissolved into a phosphate buffer liquid is used as promotional reagent for cold agglutination for use in the diagnosis of micoplasma infectious disease such as atypical pneumonia or agglutination of sheep cells useful for the diagnosis of infectious mononucleosis and serum-sickness. An inspection was done in reactions with the reagent and the results thereof virtually coincided with those of the conventional type. But this eliminates the need for leaving the sample along at one night as required in the past and enables the judgment on the presence of agglutination about 30min afterward thereby achieving a very quick diagnosis of patients. |
