A suspension rail system, in particular for studio and theatre technology, consists of a running carriage for displaceable suspension of a curtain or the like and of a running rail which surrounds the running carriage with a U-shaped cross-section, is open on the underside with a longitudinal slot and has on its U-legs two inwardly projecting running bulges on which the wheels of the running carriage running in the rail roll, and there projecting from the slot at the bottom a running hook or the like fastened to the running carriage. A supporting rail which is open at the top and is approximately circular in cross-section is arranged on the upper side of the running rail. Running rail and supporting rail are of one-piece construction and form a system rail. A suspension piece of T-shaped cross-section engages into the supporting rail, the system rail being displaceable relative to the stationary suspension piece and lockable in various displacement positions by means of locking screws.
