The invention relates to a core shuttering for the formation of cavities in large-area building elements, in particular of concrete. It has adjustable side parts which are pivoted inwards after solidification of the concrete, so that the core shuttering can be extracted more easily from the concrete building member. According to the invention, its seal consists of a flexible steel sheet, both longitudinal edges of which run underneath the ceiling and, if appropriate, also underneath the floor and are braced there in the circumferential direction of the core shuttering by tension springs. In addition, the outer part (the ceiling and, if appropriate, the floor) covering the tension springs is elastically pressed against the flexible steel sheet.
