The invention relates to a belt, in particular a conveyor belt, of rubber or rubber substitutes, having a two-ply tension-bearing liner, for example textile plies which are separated from each other by an intermediate layer, and having an undetachable belt connection, in the region of which at least part of the intermediate layer is replaced by a connecting layer, for example having an intermediate reinforcer, and the mutually corresponding plies butt against one another. To make production easier and quicker and to accomplish better force transferring properties, the butt joint of the one ply is arranged such that it is not offset with respect to the butt joint of the other ply.
