The invention relates to an adjustment screw for adjusting the reflector of motor vehicle headlights which is connected in an articulated fashion by a free end to the edge of the reflector and whose threaded shaft is rotatably guided in a mother element of the support frame. The threaded shaft has in the end region of the thread pointing towards the rear of the headlight at least one outwardly open channel which extends parallel to the longitudinal axis of said thread and is made before the thread is applied. As a result, it is possible to screw the mother element onto the threaded shaft beyond the channel. A handle part consisting of plastic is pressed onto the end region of the threaded shaft having the channel.
