摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To obtain a compact valve lock mechanism without increase of weight, by forming a notch for relieving the cam lift in the locker arm supporting section of a locker shaft while providing a drive mechanism for rotating the locker shaft forcefully. CONSTITUTION:Upon operation of an engine, a computer 30 will provide a switching command from full cylinder operation to partial cylinder operation under predetermined state of engine to exchange an exchange valve 29. Consequently the pressure states in both chambers 27, 28 are exchanged to move a rack 25 to the right through a piston 23. A locker shaft 11 is rotated by 180 deg. through gearing between the rack 25 and pinion 26 to arrange the notch 21 provided at the locker arm 12 fitting section of the shaft 11 below. Consequently even if the locker arm 12 is rolled through rotation of the cam 13 under this state, the cam lift is absorbed by the notch 21 to hold closed state of the suction/exhaust valves 15, 16.</p>
