<p>PURPOSE:To check the states of all the trays of a sorter, respectively, by providing the trays with sensors for detecting whether recorded materials are on the trays. CONSTITUTION:Copy paper is put into the bins 28 of a paper discharge unit 5. A light emitter 42 and a light receiver 43 for detecting jamming are provided deeper than the position 40 of the rear edge of the copy paper in the paper discharge unit 5, namely, near a support frame 2, so that a light path 41 is defined. Since light emitters 44 and light receivers 45 are provided between the bins 28, respectively, it can optically be detected whether the copy paper is in each bin.</p> |
