<p>A bat for cricket or a like game has a handle and an elongate blade. A front face 13 of the blade has a planar central portion 15 extending the length of the blade in axial alignment with the handle. The front face 13 has a pair of side portions 16, one on each side of the central portion 15, which are each angled towards the rear of the bat relative to the plane of the central portion 15.
