PURPOSE:To grasp a certain specified amount of the edge of original text by working an original text holding means according to signals sensed and given by an edge sensing means, where the orientation of the original text shall in this oppotunity be adjusted so as to be parallel with the transport direction of the original text. CONSTITUTION:When a pair of sensors 18, 19 sense the edge of an original text, the text transport device stops and a solenoid 23 is deenergized, and original text holder plates 9, 10 are shut by a spring stretched over them. In this condition, the edge of the original text is pinched by elastic friction members furnished at the tips of the original text holder plates 9, 10. In this grasping action, a certain amount of the edge of original text, which may be oriented aslant, is grasped and put in alignment by swinging the original text holder plates 9, 10 with an alignment motor 22. Thus the sides of the original text can be put in parallel with the transport direction of original text. |
