PURPOSE:To grasp an original text mildly and evenly by its whole edge and by providing a divided text holder plate and by furnishing an elastic friction member at its holding part. CONSTITUTION:A lower holder plate for the original text is divided into a pluraility of parts 10-1, 10-2 and 10-3, and the upper and lower taxt holder plates 9, (10-1, 10-2 and 10-3) are held open by a solenoid 23 with the aid of a holder plate opener 101. When the end of the original text P to be held is sensed by sensors 18, 19, the solenoid 23 is deenergized to shut those divided holder parts 10-1, 10-2 and 10-3 for upper original text holder plate 9 and lower original text holder plate with the aid of two or more springs 71 stretched over between each two of them. In this condition, the edge of the original text is pinched by elastic friction members 61, 62 urnished at the tips of the original text holder plates 9 and the parts 10-1, 10-2 and 10-3 to ensure that the whole sheet is grasped with a mild and uniform force. |
