PURPOSE:To fix parts to the central position of an insertion hole precisely, by a method wherein a plurality of eddy current detecting elements and an arm is moved so that an output value of each of the detectors becomes identical. CONSTITUTION:As for a position detector 5, detection elements 5a-5d are arranged at positions of the four apexes of a square. A central position direction of a hole 71 is computed by output values of the four detection elements 5a-5d, an arm 1 is moved so that the four output values become identical. In this instance, the detector 5 is above the center of the hole 71 accurately and parts are inserted into the hole by turning an assembly hand 4 by an angle of 180 deg. and moving the parts held by a grip 44 to a position of the hole. |
