PURPOSE:To grind a work without burning the end surface of the work, by slidably moving a grinding head only in one direction so as to allow the outer circumferential surface of the work and the end surface perpendicular to said outer circumferential surface to be ground at the same time. CONSTITUTION:The figure illustrates the course of the movement of the tip 11' of the rotating grind stone 11 in an angular slide cylindrical grinder. In the figure, the length from P4 to P5' represents the grinding feed speed at which the tip 11' is moved a distance S3. The relative movement of the grind 11 to the work 1 is represented by the course as shown by the length from P3' to P9', that is, the relative angle of the axis 2 of the work 1 with the course of the movement of the tip 11' is theta2 (>theta1). Thus, after it is moved a distance S4, the above procedure is repeated to reciprocate the tip 11' of the grind 11 predetermined times. Thus, without burning the end surface of the work, the work can be ground. |
