<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst having ozone decomposing capacity and durability, by adding nickel oxide to manganese dioxide in an amount of 20-55% on the basis of nickel atom. CONSTITUTION:MnO2 obtained by decomposing manganese carbonate under heating in an oxygen stream is mixed with NiO obtained by baking nickel hydroxide in an air stream and, after a proper amount of a silica sol is added to the obtained mixture, the resulting one is baked in an air stream and ground. NiO is added in an amount of 20-55 atomic %, pref., 25-45 atomic % to MnO2. This catalyst is pref. bound by an inert binder and can be subsequently crushed into granules.</p> |
