PURPOSE:To record >=3 kinds of information on one slanting track simultaneously in a two-head helical scan type information recording and reproducing device by dividing each slanting track into plural parts and recording a time- compressed signal successively. CONSTITUTION:An audio signal processor 25 converts an audio signal into a PCM signal to perform time compression to about 1/6. A pilot signal generator 44 outputs different signals of four kinds of frequency. Namely, every time the output of a pulse generator 22 is switched to ''High'' or ''Low'', the signals are outputted in the order of f1, f2, f3, f4, f1, and f2. The levels ''High'' and ''Low'' of the output signal of the pulse generator 22 relate to rotary heads 18a and 18b; when the rotary head 18a records a signal on a slanting track, the output B of the pulse generator 22 is at the level ''High'' and when the rotary head 18b records a signal on a slanting track, the output signal B is at the level ''Low''. |
