PURPOSE:To obtain a reflective polarizing plate having superior heat stability and strength, by laminating a nondirectionally or uniaxially stretched polyester film, an adhesive layer, a polarizing film, an adhesive layer, a metallic vapor deposited layer and a biaxially, nondirectionally, or uniaxially stretched polyester film in this order. CONSTITUTION:A plastic film 1 of a nondirectionally or unidirectionally stretched polyester or the like is used as the surface layer, and a polarizing film 2 prepared by adsorbing iodine and/or a dichroic dye to a PVA or the like hydrophilic film and orienting them is pasted to the film 1 so as to allow its absorption axis to become parallel to the orientation axis or to intersect it at right angles. Then, an Al or the like metallic vapor deposited layer 3 formed on a polyester or the like nondirectional or uni- or biaxially stretched plastic film 5 is pasted to the film 2 of the laminate 1, 4, 2 on the side of the vapor deposited face 3 using an adhesive 4, thus obtaining the reflective polarizing plate superior in heat resistance, mechanical strength, and polarization characteristics. |
