The invention concerns a method and an arrangement for measuring the degree of filling of a mill driven by electric motor. Unlike the familiar method based on measuring the variation in sound of the mill as a function of the degree of filling, the invention is based on measuring the power consumption of the mill. The essential characteristic of the invention is that one measures the variation in the power uptake of the mill and determines the degree of filling on the basis of the intensity of the power variation, making use of previous test measurements carried out with different degrees of filling.
