The invention concerns an arrangement for constrained axial displacement of a plug 4 relative to a socket 5. The arrangement consists of a mechanism 7 arranged either at the socket or the plug, which comprises an element 10 arranged on either side of the plug/socket, able to pivot about a fixed centre 9, such as an eccentric cam, which interacts with a rod 8 moveable essentially in axial direction and engaging with the pivoted element 10. When force is applied and the element 10 swivels in one direction, the rod 8 by engaging with a shoulder on the part of the plug/socket not supporting the mechanism 7 is caused to move the plug 4 and socket 5 relative to each other as the element 10 continues to swivel. The element 10 can alternatively consist of a link pivoted at one end, whose other end is hinged to one end of the rod 8. According to another alternative, the element 10 can consist of a pivoted gear segment, which engages with a rack, forming said rod 8. The swivelling motion of the element 10 is produced by a stem-shaped handle 17, removably secured to the element 10. The arrangement is used as an accessory for separating plugs installed in sockets that are difficult to remove manually by reason of effects of weather, wind, and soiling. The arrangement can either be configured as a separate tool for detachable mounting on a plug or a socket and which can be moved to a different plug/socket after use, or also configured as an integral part of the plug or socket during its manufacture. <IMAGE> |
