The clutch comprises a clutch-operating cable coupled to a piston surrounded by a solenoid and has a piston head containing a one-way valve. The valve is between an hydraulic cylinder and an outlet forming part of a circuit including solenoid valves and an inlet to the cylinder. The solenoid and solenoid valves are controlled by an electronic circuit so that the clutch remains engaged during foot braking at high vehicle speed but disengages during braking at low speed. When a push button on a gear change lever is depressed, the clutch and a hand brake, if engaged, are released. |
