PURPOSE:To develop an electrostatic latent image at a high speed and to improve development efficiency, by recoverying carriers by a carrier recoverying means selectively from a developer supplied to a conveying means by a supplying means, and obtaining a developer which has large toner proportion. CONSTITUTION:A bucket roll 6 which is formed cylindrically of a nonmagnetic conductive material such as aluminum and provided so as to be bussied partially in the developer De in a developing tank 3 is rotated as shown by an arrow (d) during development to scoop up the developer De by plural bucket grooves 6a formed in its circumferential surface, supplying the developer to the circumferential surface of a developing sleeve 4. Carriers in the developer are recovered selectively by a carrier recovery roll 24 prior to the supply to the circumferential surface. Consequently, the developer having higher toner density than when it is in the developing tank 3 is supplied to the sleeve circumferential surface. |
