When the cheeses are cut off at the bottom of the moulding tubes, each is received in one cavity of a honeycomb mould which rests on a removable support plate. The honeycomb mould and support plate are pushed on to a stillage alongside the moulding machine and the support plate is then pulled back to receive another empty honeycomb mould in the moulding position, leaving the first honeycomb mould, complete with cheeses, on the stillage ready for transportation and storage.
