PURPOSE:To reduce the cost required for writing and secure easiness of the maintenance and management of the wiring and remarkably shorter the stopping time of a system function due to the change or supplement of the wiring, by performing the optimum rearrangement of process input-output signals by performing a software process. CONSTITUTION:A device which is mainly used as the interface between the monitor and control equipment 6 of a centralized monitor and control system 8 and an external apparatus is constituted of a process input-output device 10-1 which uses process input- output signals connected with the external equipments as primary-side signals and process input-output signals connected with the monitor and control equipment 6 that carries out processes of control and monitor by inputting outputting the primary- side signals as secondary-side signals and directly processes both of the primary- and secondary-side signals, memory section 10-2 in which signal conversion information made to correspond to the connecting point of the primary- and secondary-side signals is stored in advance, and arithmetic unit section 10-3 which performs rearrangement processes of the connecting point of the primary- and secondary-side signals in accordance with the signal conversion information stored in the memory section 10-2. Therefore, the optimum rearrangement of process input-output signals can be performed by making a software process.
