PURPOSE:To produce continuously and stably a metallic light-gage strip having a good surface characteristic by using a rotary roll for cooling made of brass in ejecting the melt of a crystalline high-melting alloy onto the cooling roll under high speed rotation and producing directly the light-gage strip of the crystalline alloy. CONSTITUTION:The melt 2 of a crystalline high-melting matal or alloy consisting of Fe, Ni, Co having a high m. p. or an alloy thereof is put in a vessel and while the melt 2 is heated with a high frequency induction coil 4 disposed on the outside or the like, the melt is injected from a slit nozzle 3 for cooling onto the surface of a rotary body 5 made of brass having a smooth surface, whereby a light-gage belt-like crystalline metal 6 is produced continuously. Since the body 5 is made of brass, the light-gage crystalline strip 6 of the high melting alloy is produced stably without melt sticking of the melt 2 on the roll 5. |
