<p>Seal arrangement for the feed cylinder, for the pre-plasticising zone in an extruder or injection press for plastic material, driven through reducing gear, is improved by a chamber with a gas-tight seal placed between the external surface of the end wall of the extrusion cylinder and the casing of the reducing gear, the seal between the shaft of which and the chamber being made through a compression packing.
