PURPOSE:To reduce fuel consumption and to provide higher productivity and stabler heating-up quality by evaluating the heat condition at the prediction end in accordance with the present heat condition of individual billets in respective heating zones and controlling the furnace temp. in each zone. CONSTITUTION:The present temp. of each billet in the heating zones of a multizoned continuous heating furnace is determined from the temp. in the furnace, the position in the furnace, the heat transmission characteristics in the furnace, the stagnation time in each zone and the sizes, heat characteristics and thermal hysteresis of the billets. The deviation between such present temp. and present target temp. is integrated by each zone. The time till the prediction end when either the over or under heat is decided for each billet is determined and the predicted temp. after said time is calculated. The deviation between the predicted temp. and the target temp. at that point of time is determined and the furnace temp. in each zone is controlled with the sum total obtd. by multiplying the deviation by a coefft. as an evaluation function. The exact target temp. for discharging is obtd. by the above-mentioned method. |
