PURPOSE:To record additionally a title, by recording superimposingly character information or the like during the period of window pulse generation so as to suppress the deterioration in picture quality to the utmost. CONSTITUTION:A recorded FM signal is reproduced at a head 5, and a signal obtained with demodulation 8 is separated 9, 10 vertically and horizontally and output signals S3 and S4 are obtained. A window pulse generating circuit 18 generates a window pulse S6 in synchronizing with the signals S3 and S4. A pattern signal generator 19 generates a character pattern and symbol pattern used and designated for the title in synchronizing with the pulse S6. The pattern signal is FM-modulated at an FM modulator 15, its output signal is given continuously during the period of window pulse generation and demodulated 8 without being inverted. |
