Method for assembling a rotating machine in which the air gap is defined with precision by means of a removable calibration piece, and the carcass elements which are not machined are assembled around the stator and the bearings with the interposition of a plastic product which can be polymerised. The rotating machine has the form of a nondismantlable monobloc assembly of two half carcasses 4, 6 as cast, and are assembled together and on the stator 1 by the intermediary of a filler product 5 which can be polymerised. <IMAGE>
