<p>Device for feeding/dispensing broken granular glass into a glass thread making device in which only a small pool of continuously replenished glass is kept, comprises a dispensing device consisting of an automatic weighing machine from which intermittent feeds of solid glass are made into a cylinder, which feeds the powder via a shute into another cylinder fitted with a revolving distribution arm, which distributes the powder into vertical cylinders arranged in a circle under its mouth so that the flow into each cylinder is evened out, the cylinders being emptied from the bottom onto a common shute which feeds the glass powder in a uniform stream into the melting device. The above ensure a most uniform feed of glass powder into the thread making device.</p> |
