The fine mica strip consists of mica paper (G), a tear-resistant backing (T), an adhesive (K) for bonding mica paper (G) and backing (T), a dedusting agent introduced into the mica paper (G) and an accelerator for curing an epoxy resin introduced later in the impregnation process. To reduce the cost of dedusting and introducing the other components, the invention provides for zinc naphthenate to be introduced into the mica paper (G) as dedusting agent and at the same time as accelerator. The zinc naphthenate applied in excess to one side of the mica paper (G) can also be used at the same time as adhesive (K) for bonding mica paper (G) and backing (T). Impregnatable fine mica strips according to the invention are suitable, in particular, for high-voltage insulations for electrical machines which can be produced by the epoxy-resin impregnation process. <IMAGED>
