A method for measuring the speed of rotation (n) of a direct-current motor (10) is proposed. In this method, the voltage peaks, which are induced in the motor (10) by the commutation, are picked up at an input terminal (11) of the motor (10). The frequency (kn) of these voltage peaks is processed to form an analog signal proportional to the motor speed (n) which is supplied to an indicating instrument (12). <IMAGE>
