The invention relates to a railway goods wagon having bogies arranged at the ends on wagon underframe extensions bearing the draw and buffer gear and having a loading surface, lowered between the bogies, for transporting road vehicles, in particular semitrailers, the loading surface being formed by a platform which can be swivelled out of the longitudinal direction of the vehicle for loading and unloading and is supported on the wagon underframe extensions. In order to eliminate difficulties in supporting the platform during the loading and unloading process and to avoid restrictions in the dimensioning of the platform forming a part of the underframe, the platform is rotatably mounted at one end on a wagon underframe extension and at the other end provided with a moving gear which can be extended for support on a support plate located on and next to the track element. The swivel-out end of the platform can be guided on the respective wagon underframe extension over spars which are extensions of lateral longitudinal members by means of support rollers or sliding elements.
