The invention relates to a device for determining the wear of both brake linings of a disc brake, in particular a floating-calliper disc brake, having a hydraulic brake cylinder. The device comprises a holder which can be attached to the disc brake or the wheel carrier and has a measuring pin for each of the brake linings. The holder and the measuring pins are designed in such a way that the device can be used both on a disc brake on one side of the vehicle and on a disc brake on the other side of the vehicle.
