The blade ring-type shredder (10) for chips has a set of blades (14) fitted on two rings mounted in housing (11). The housing (11) forms around the blade ring assembly (14) a chip outlet channel (21). Inside the housing (11) a centrifugal impeller (13) is rotating its face plate (24) fitted with additional vanes (26) which produce the air flow necessary for the quick removal of the chips. The air flow is ducted through a duct system in the upper zone of the housing which facilitates transport of the chips into the chip outlet channel. The duct system consists of a number of elongated slots (22) placed in direction of rotation, provided in the common separating wall (29). The slots are in form of air distribution device with perforation (30) and projecting guide vane (31). The axes of the distributed air flow beams are in a tangential direction to the ring of blade circumference.
