The apparatus for the profile working (form cutting or the like) of curved wooden workpieces (18) has a drive shaft (39) for a form tool (4) as well as a supporting spindle (16) for a work carrier (17), both of which extend vertically beyond a horizontal work plate (2). The vertical supporting spindle (16) for the work carrier (17) is arranged in an axially displaceable manner on a slide (12) displaceable radially to the drive shaft of the form tool (4). A number of locking members (21) for the workpiece (18) which are radially adjustable relative to the supporting spindle (16) are provided on the work carrier (17). Furthermore, a device is provided for the vertical adjustment of the supporting spindle (16) with the work carrier (18) in one or more working positions and in at least one top position without working the workpiece (16). Further means serve to adjust the slide (18) relative to the form tool (4) as well as to actuate the locking members (21) (Fig. 1).
