PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic film enabling high density recording exceeding an in-face magnetic recording system recording density limit by forming a vertically magnetized film by Co, Ni, P and Zn, compositions thereof are each specified. CONSTITUTION:When XCo, XNi, XP and XZn are each made Co, Ni, P and Zn % wt., the composition of the vertically magnetized film is prescribed as follows. That is, several composition is specified in 3<=XCo<=42, 54<=XNi<=89, 4<=XP<=8, 0.1<=XZn<=3.2, and 7.2XP+12.8<=XNi<=7.2XP+43.2. A rolled copper plate or approximately 0.2mm. thickness is used in order to prepare the magnetic film, and the copper plate is purified and activated sufficiently, coated with a nickel-phosphorus nonmagnetic film in approximately 0.2mum thickness through an electroless plating method, and used as a base. The nonmagnetic film is coated with a Co-Ni-P-Zn alloy magnetic thin-film in approximately 1.3mum thickness through electroplating. Accordingly, orientation in the vertical direction is facilitated, and the value of saturation magnetization is also reduced.
