PURPOSE:To have rapid stabilization of idling speed by sensing the operating condition of the idling engine during car's running on the basis of signals from idling switch and car speed sensor and an ignition pulse signal and by controlling the opening of a by- pass valve. CONSTITUTION:The rapid decelerating condition in engine's number of revolutions likely to occur when the output shaft of the engine is disconnected from the propeller shaft on the car body side during car's running, is sensed through the amount of change in the (car speed Vr)/(engine's number of revolutions), and the engine's idling condition during car's running is judged from the data thus obtained by sensing together with the idling switch's 48 condition, i.e. if it is on. A position sensor 38 for sensing the degree of opening of the by-pass valve 20 is furnished, and this degree of opening is controlled on the basis of the deviation of the degree of opening, DELTAphir, of the actual opening phir sensed by said sensor during engine's idling from the target opening phins preset on the basis of deviation of the number of revolutions so that the engine's number of revolutions Nr will be equal to the target number of revolutions Ns. Thus control of revolving speed is made quickly to ensure that such inconvenience as engine stall etc. is prevented. |
