PALLADIUM ELECTRODEPOSITION COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS

Compositions and processes for electrodepositing metallic palladium on surfaces at substantially constant bath efficiencies for prolonged periods are described. The compositions comprise a source of palladium ions such as a water soluble palladium compound and a source of free nitrite ions in stoichiometric excess relative to the palladium. These can be used to prepare articles coated with adherent layers of metallic palladium.
