<p>An asparagus is loaded into each pocket of a multi-pocket, horizontal feed table. The feed table moves into alignment with a working frame which presents a suction cup opposite each table pocket. The table rotates through 90 degrees about its longitudinal axis to transfer each asparagus vertically from a table pocket to a suction cup of the working frame. The frame rotates through 180 degrees about a central, horizontal axis. This brings the asparagus to a lower, trimming location and presents an empty set of suction cups on top of the frame, opposite the feed table pockets. Each asparagus held by a suction cup is then trimmed by a separate knife. The knives are mounted on a cotting head which is synchronised to move up and down to trim the suspended asparagus. Used for industrial space trimming of asparagus for canning etc. The machine replaces a tiring and expensive, manual operation. The machine is of simple construction and delivers a high yield of prod.</p> |
